Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chennai Mr. Ar Rm Arun addressed the Global Connect Conference organized by the World Tamil Chamber of Commerce

The Honorary Consul of The Czech Republic in Chennai, Mr. Ar Rm Arun was the Esteemed Guest at the Global Connect Conference organized by the World Tamil Chamber of Commerce on Jan 7, 2024 at Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai. Mr.Arun was invited to address on what are the opportunities available in the Czech Republic for the global Tamil Diaspora.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arun shared about the Czech Republic having given India 3 major brands of Bata, Jawa & Skoda. He shared that the Czech Republic has the same population as Chennai, while having the GDP of Tamil Nadu. Being an extremely advance economy, the Czech Republic has 10-times the Per Capita Income of Tamil Nadu. Prague recently been voted most beautiful city in world - whether it’s wandering across Charles Bridge or gazing at Astronomical Clock, a day in Prague bound to involve magnificent architecture also Indian food highly popular in CZ with more than 90 restaurants in Prague alone. Also Pilsen is 2nd largest city, Ostrava is close 3rd, Brno is 4th.

Mr. Arun shared that Glass-making been traditional industry in CZ for decades, especially with its globally renowned Bohemian Crystals. Mr. Arun said that the Chennai Consulate’s focus under his leadership has been 5 areas namely : Aerospace & Defense, Engineering, Higher Education, Tourism & Culture. Mr. Arun added that with most Indian Airports having Czech Radar installed, and with the Czech Republic having good presence among Light Commercial Aircraft manufacturing, it offers wide scope for Czech Companies to partner with counterparts in Tamil Nadu towards the upcoming Defense Corridor within Tamil Nadu. Mr. Arun mentioned that Engineering & High-Precision Industries being a highlight within the Czech Republic with its world famous MSV, the International Engineering Fair. Mr. Arun also spoke about Higher Education Programs in the Czech Republic, Czech Tourism and about Czech Films being popular in Chennai.
